On March 9, 2024, the 2023 Concrete and Cement Products Industry Sci&Tech Innovation Platform Exchange Forum, hosted by the China Concrete and Cement-based Products Association(CCPA) and organized by Ningbo Zhongchun High-tech Co., was held in Ningbo, Zhejiang. A total of 16 industry key laboratories, technology centers, and innovation platforms participated in the forum. Dr. Li Juan, Program Director of NEXCEL, was invited to present the NEXCEL Development Report.
Dr. Li briefly introduced the overview of NEXCEL and its funded projects. Based on the applications of GFRP rebars in Jazan Flood Mitigation Channel in Saudi Arabia, the Yangshan Port construction in Shanghai, as well as Marine Slope Protection project in Sanya, she presented the outstanding advantages of FRP materials in terms of corrosion resistance and low cost throughout the entire life cycle of marine engineering. Subsequently, she shared the progress of NEXCEL projects related to FRP profiles and rebars in the past three years and engaged in in-depth exchanges with the participants on the innovative development of FRP in the concrete and cement products industry.
During the Forum, Mr. Wu Wengui, President of CCPA, highly spoke the work of NEXCEL. And Dr. Li held discussions on the prospects for cooperation with Dr. Chen Yu, Vice Secretary General of CCPA, and other representatives from industry. This Innovation Platform Exchange Forum brought together the most outstanding research talents, leading enterprises, and cutting-edge materials and technologies in the Chinese concrete and cement products industry. This forum developed and expanded the application of FRP materials in concrete and cement product engineering, as well as promoted high-quality, sustainable, and low-carbon development in the industry.
