Technology of mechanical foaming warm mixed asphalt
Overview
Through mechanical foaming process and warm mixing agent, the construction temperature of asphalt mixture can be reduced from 170-180℃ to 140-150℃, thus greatly reducing the construction energy consumption and reducing the emission of asphalt smoke and carbon dioxide.
Technical performance and indicator
(1) This technology reduces the construction temperature by 20-40℃;
(2) The dynamic stability of mechanical foaming warm mixed asphalt mixture is 2032 times/mm, hot mix 1811 times/mm, and the fatigue performance is comparable to that of hot mixed method;
(3) Low temperature bending failure strain greater than 2000 microstrain, freeze-thaw splitting residual strength ratio greater than 80%;
(4) Reduce the construction temperature of asphalt mixture over 20℃, energy saving 15%;
(5) Reduce the emission of asphalt smoke and CO2 by more than 80% and 50%, respectively.

Financial comparison
Compared with chemical additive method and organic additive method, the application of mechanical foaming warm mixed technology can save the additive cost of 28 to 30 CNY per ton of asphalt mixture.

Deployment experience
(1) In 2022, the Xinjiang G216 Line project adopted mechanical foaming warm mixed asphalt technology for a total of 5 kilometers on the road surface of K122+000 ~ K127+000 section.
(2) In 2023, Anhui Yuewu Expressway Wuwei to Yuexi section demonstration project, 7 tunnels in K143+820-K173+061 section, used in a total of 17 kilometers.
