Organized by the Materials Engineering Association, AMPP Dhahran Saudi Arabia Chapter, and the Bahrain Society of Engineers, and hosted by Saudi Aramco, this biennial event has been a key platform for corrosion professionals since its launch in 1979 in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The event brought together , all contributing insights and solutions to advance the global corrosion control industry. As a premier venue for knowledge sharing on corrosion mitigation, the MECC attracts over 150 exhibitors and more than 9,000 experts and scholars from 45 countries around the world.
The event features a comprehensive technical program, including workshops led by global experts and an exhibition showcasing the latest products, solutions, and advancements in the field of corrosion. At the exhibition, NEXCEL showcased the latest outcomes of nonmetallic materials in the building and construction sector, effectively bridging Chinese nonmetallic technologies with global needs.
During the exhibition, Aramco top management, headed by Mr. Wail A. Al Jaafari, Executive Vice President of Saudi Aramco, visited NEXCEL’s booth and engaged in an in-depth exchange with NEXCEL team. Mr. Jaafari emphasized Aramco’s strong commitment to its strategic partnership with China National Building Material Group (CNBM) and highly praised NEXCEL’s innovative achievements and technical capabilities over the past three years. Dr. Li Juan, Program Director of NEXCEL, introduced NEXCEL’s representative exhibits and expressed gratitude for the longstanding support from Aramco and China Building Materials Academy (CBMA). This high-level recognition is expected to further elevate collaboration between the two sides, injecting new momentum into the global energy and materials sectors.

At the technical program, Dr. Li Juan delivered an invited report on behalf of NEXCEL project team titled “Optimal design of structural parameters and microwave absorbing properties of cement-based pyramid-shaped configuration.” Professor Li Haijian from CBMA presented on “Review on Application of Phase Change Energy Storage Building Materials,” while Dr. Liu Zhicheng, NEXCEL Project Manager, shared findings on behalf of NEXCEL project team on “Synthesis of magnetic-responsive polymer latex and its magnetic response evaluation in cement-based composites.”

Over the three-day event, NEXCEL’s booth attracted a continuous flow of visitors. The exhibition served not only as a window to demonstrate NEXCEL’s strengths but also as a valuable platform to initiate substantive cooperation with global partners. Guided by Aramco’s nonmetallic strategy and CNBM’s new materials strategy, NEXCEL remains committed to accelerating nonmetallic technology deployment in the building and construction sector, and deploying innovative nonmetallic technologies to provide more sustainable construction solutions.
