On January 16, 2025, NEXCEL convened the Mid-term Review Meeting for the 2024 TDA projects. The Principal Investigators and key members of five TDA Projects attended the meeting and reported the latest progress and outcome of the projects. The review panel, with their extensive experience and insightful perspectives, conducted rigorous reviews and posed professional inquiries to each project.


Prof. YAO Yan, as the leader of the review panel, first expressed her appreciation to all the experts for their attendance. She pointed out that this meeting aims to provide comments and suggestions regarding the project's progress. And she pointed out that project teams should not only complete their established tasks but also place greater emphasis on the application of nonmetallic materials in building and construction sector.
During the project review process, experts provided insightful feedback. They highlighted issues related to research content, progress, and budget utilization in certain projects, suggesting optimizations and adjustments to research timelines and task assignments for the next phase. These suggestions are invaluable for the project teams, as they will help the project team to improve the quality and impact of the project in the follow-up work.

Dr. LI Juan, Program Director of NEXCEL, expressed her sincere gratitude to the review panel. She asked the project teams to develop detailed implementation plans based on a strict time schedule. Finally, she emphasized that our projects should not only focus on the academic value of research outcomes but also on their application in the industry. Dr. Li encourages project teams to strengthen collaborations with building and construction enterprises and expedite the demonstration application of project results.
Through this meeting, the project teams not only received valuable feedback and guidance but also clarified the research directions and goals. Each team expressed their commitment to the suggestions, optimizing research plans, accelerating research progress, aiming to achieve more significant results within the established timeline. Additionally, they deeply recognized the importance of applying research outcomes in practice. They pledged to strengthen connections with the industry, explore collaboration opportunities, and drive the practical application of nonmetallic materials in the building and construction sectors.
