Prof. ZHANG Zhonglun, Vice President of CNBM Zhongyan Technology, gave a presentation entitled "Research of Aerogel Glass for Building". Based on the energy-saving requirements of building glass, he introduced the structure, manufacture process, standard and applications of aerogel glass. They have developed low-cost, size-controlled aerogel particles, and aerogel glasses of different sizes and thickness. He pointed out that compared with ordinary argon-filled energy-saving glass, aerogel glass can save 45% of heating energy consumption, 13% of building energy consumption, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 91%.

Dr. WANG Yunhong, President of IBIH Advanced Materials gave a presentation entitled "Application and Development of Aerogel materials in Building". Starting from the issues of building energy saving, battery safety and thermal energy loss, he introduced the raw materials, production equipment, product performance and engineering applications of aerogel, focusing on polyimide aerogel, zero-carbon building aerogel and engineering application cases. He pointed out that the application of aerogel to building cladding can improve energy efficiency and promote the development of zero-carbon buildings.

In the salon/Q&A session, Prof. SUN Shibing summarized the presentations and discussed with the speakers on the impact of aerogel pore parameters on thermal insulation performance, safety of aerogel glass, and cost of aerogel/cement-based composite materials. The forum concluded successfully with an engaging discussion.
