The Seventh International Conference on Durability of Concrete Structures (ICDCS 2022), hosted by Jinan University, was successfully held from May 20 to 22, 2022. This conference took an online format and brought together hundreds of experts and scholars in the field of concrete materials and structural durability from China, Germany, the United States, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, India, Japan and other countries.

Professor Yao Yan, former President of CBMA, Champion and Chairlady of NEXCEL Technical Advisory Committee, was invited to the conference and delivered a keynote speech entitled "Advances in High-Erosion Resistant Cement-based Materials for Marine Engineering in China", introducing technological breakthroughs of “Advances in High-Erosion Resistant Cement-based Materials for Marine Engineering in China” undertaken by CBMA in National Key R&D Program of China. Based on performance requirements of building materials in complex marine environments, the program provided a series of technical solutions industrialized and demonstrated in project applications with remarkable social and economic benefits, which received overwhelm attention from the conference’s participants.

As an international academic conference with world influence, high-level keynote speeches at ICDCS convey the latest international research progress to researchers studying concrete structure durability. ICDCS series brings together leading experts in the field of concrete durability from around the world since its inception and hosting the first ICDCS by Zhejiang University in 2008, since then ICDCS has been successfully organized in every two years. ICDCS series provides a unique opportunity to discuss recent progress and latest developments in materials technology.
