Introduction

 

On October 12, 2024, NEXCEL visited the National and Local Unified Engineering Research Center for Basalt Fiber Production and Application Technology (referred to as the "Basalt Center"). Prof Wang Xin, Deputy Director of Basalt Center attended the meeting and accompanied NEXCEL team to visit the exhibition room and laboratory of Basalt Center.

 

Prof Wang Xin introduced the background of Basalt Center, and the basalt fiber mineral raw materials, basalt fiber composite concrete structure fatigue performance and basalt fiber composite engineering applications were introduced in detail. They developed many products, such as basalt fiber, basalt fiber composite reinforcement, mesh, profiles and geogrid.

Dr. Li Juan, Program Director of NEXCEL, spoke highly of the achievements made by Basalt Center in the field of basalt fiber composites, and thanked them for their full support for NEXCEL. She pointed out that the application and promotion of basalt fiber composite in building and construction field is still facing many challenges, and the current need is to find larger and more application scenarios.

Both parties will carry out in-depth cooperation in research and development, advocacy and training, technical forums and other aspects in the future.
