On October 11, 2024, NEXCEL team visited the Yangtze River Delta Carbon Fiber & Composite Innovation Center(CCIC). Prof. Yi Xiaosu, Executive Director, and Prof. Zhao Wenming, Deputy Director of CCIC, attended the meeting and accompanied NEXCEL team to visit the exhibition room and laboratory of CCIC.
Dr. Li Juan, Program Director of NEXCEL, introduced the innovation projects supported by NEXCEL since 2022 for the challenges of resource, energy and materials transformation, as well as the outcomes achieved by the projects and their contribution to low-carbon building materials. The strategic planning and capacity building of NEXCEL in the field of fiber reinforced composite and the prospect of cooperation with CCIC in the future were introduced.
Prof. Yi Xiaosu introduced the background, operation mode and research and development of CCIC in high-performance carbon fiber composite, focusing on the advantages of international cooperation and development, skills training, hoping to cooperate with NEXCEL in the future in research, advocacy and training. In particular, they hope both sides will carry out all-round cooperation in the direction of "recycling of waste resources".
Both parties have initially reached the intention to carry out in-depth cooperation in research and development, project promotion, industry training, technical forums and other aspects.
The Yangtze River Delta Carbon Fiber & Composite Innovation Center (CCIC) was established in March 2022 and focuses on the industrial technology development in the field of carbon fiber and its composite, centering on the major strategic needs of the country, scientifically positioning collaborative innovation to create a diversified platform.
