NEXCEL Convened 2023 Project Interim Review Meeting

Introduction

On January 18, 2024, NEXCEL convened Interim Review Meeting for the 2023 TDA projects. The meeting was attended by the Principle Investigators and key members of six projects who provided a detailed presentation on the latest progress and significant achievements of their respective projects. The Review Panel, with their extensive experience and insightful perspectives, conducted rigorous reviews and posed professional inquiries to each project. The participants engaged in an enthralling exchange of ideas, delving deep into discussions that led to a successful conclusion of the meeting.

Prof. Yao Yan expressed her appreciation to all the experts for their attendance. She emphasized that this meeting aims to provide comments and suggestions regarding the project's progress and to set the course for the year 2024. And she pointed that project teams should not only fulfill their established tasks but also place greater emphasis on the application research of hydrocarbon-based materials. She urged them to cultivate results that exhibit international advanced levels and innovation, aiming to expand and expedite the prominent utilization of nonmetallic materials in building and construction sector.

During the project review, the experts also highlighted certain issues such as too broad scope in research content. They advised further optimization and adjustment of task distribution and to focus on the key technologies in the next phase. These guiding suggestions are invaluable for the project teams and will help them strive for excellence, overcome challenges, and enhance the quality the projects in their subsequent work.

Dr. LI Juan, Program Director of NEXCEL,expressed her sincere gratitude to all experts and project teams for their diligent efforts. She requested that each project team should carefully study the suggestions provided by the experts and develop detailed implementation plans based on a strict time schedule. Finally, she emphasized the urgency of project progress and the rigorous scrutiny of the final acceptance, urging the team to expedite their efforts and ensure the high-quality and timely completion of the tasks.

Through this meeting, all project teams shared their valuable experience and further clarified the objectives of projects, as well as the vision and missionof NEXCEL to expand and accelerate the application of nonmetallic materials in building and construction sector.
